What route will the delivery truck use?

Our truck leaves the Gypsum yard and follows I-70 west through Dotsero and Glenwood Canyon. It uses Exit 116 for central Glenwood Springs or Exit 114 for West Glenwood, then follows the site route you provide.

Grand Avenue is the city's main street and carries Colorado 82 over the Colorado River and I-70 on a bridge rebuilt and opened in 2017 (CDOT). The 27th Street and Midland Avenue corridors help describe west-side destinations, but your superintendent still needs to identify the actual entrance, gate and set direction.

Glenwood Springs is where the Colorado and Roaring Fork rivers meet. Colorado 82 begins here and continues through Carbondale and Basalt toward the upper valley, so do not describe a site only as "up Highway 82" when a precise address and entrance can prevent a wrong approach.

Send photos in the order the driver will encounter each constraint. Include the road entrance, turning space, overhead lines, gate posts, parked-equipment plan, pad and exit route rather than only a close image of the empty placement.

What happens if Glenwood Canyon closes on delivery day?

I-70 between Dotsero at Exit 133 and Glenwood Springs at Exit 116 has faced safety closures since the 2020 Grizzly Creek Fire. Per CDOT, the agency closes the canyon during flash-flood warnings over the burn scar and after rockfall or debris flows, using updated safety protocols developed with the U.S. Forest Service, NOAA and USGS.

When the canyon is closed before our truck leaves Gypsum, we do not roll. We text you and reschedule, and no trip fee applies, because the failed-delivery charge in §5 only arises once the truck reaches your site.

CDOT's official through-traffic detour runs north on Colorado 9, US 40 and Colorado 13 through Kremmling, Craig and Rifle. CDOT information reported by The Denver Post describes that route as adding several hours, so we do not send the delivery truck around it.

Road closures and weather are events beyond our reasonable control, and under Rental Agreement §23 JOLT is not liable for a delay they cause. Plan the mobilization with a day of slack rather than counting on a make-up date or a credit.

That closure rule differs from a failed delivery at your property. If our truck arrives but cannot place the unit because of site conditions, access, weather at the site or no representative, Rental Agreement §5 charges the delivery fee for that trip plus the next trip.

Keep the field contact watching both route status and site readiness. A canyon opening does not clear a blocked gate, and a clear property entrance does not override an active CDOT closure.

Which side of town changes your setup?

Central sites near Grand Avenue can have a different approach from West Glenwood locations reached through the 27th Street or Midland Avenue corridors. Give us the side of the river, exact entrance and preferred truck orientation so route review begins with useful field information.

The final placement must provide a firm, level and well-drained surface with marked utilities and clear overhead space. A 20 ft unit needs about 70 ft of straight-line truck clearance, while a 40 ft unit needs about 100 ft, even when the finished box footprint looks easy to fit.

Commercial and hospitality remodels often need separation between public circulation and construction work. Face cargo doors into the controlled work zone, place temporary fence on stable ground and preserve an emergency and delivery path defined by the site's own plan.

Choose storage by access pattern as well as length. The 10 ft storage unit has half the floor of a 20 ft box, a man door, barred window and end cargo doors, making it useful where frequent walk-in access matters.

The 12 ft storage unit is 8 ft wide at standard height with the same walk-in idea. Its man door and one barred window suit a tool crib, while end cargo doors remain available for loading.

A one-trip 20 ft storage container is the straightforward material box. Four lock bars and a welded lockbox secure its cargo doors, but it has no windows or personnel door; crews should keep a clear aisle and door swing.

Large open sites can use the 40 ft high-cube storage unit, which is 9 ft 6 in tall and offers twice the floor of a 20 ft container. It carries a 3-month minimum and demands the longer 100 ft placement line.

The 20 ft office family puts a compact field room on a 20 ft footprint. A Base office provides mini-split heat and cooling, lights, outlets, vinyl-plank floor, a 50-amp inlet, a 36-inch personnel door and two barred slider windows.

Where appearance has a larger role, the Alpine office adds matte black exterior treatment, cedar surrounds, a standing-seam over-roof, covered entry deck and backup heat to Grid-Free. It includes the camera, Starlink, solar and 10 kWh battery.

For a crew without facilities, consider the 40 ft office with bathroom. It has an enclosed bathroom at the far end plus the office's mini-split, shore-power inlet, lights, outlets and vinyl-plank floor, but its access needs match a 40 ft unit.

A portable hand-wash station can accompany any unit or be ordered alone. It is a smaller support choice when the full 40 ft office does not fit the site plan.

How should a lower-elevation site prepare for winter?

Glenwood Springs sits at 5,761 ft per USGS GNIS, the lowest town we serve on this side of Colorado. Its snow season is shorter than the Eagle River valley's, but freezing weather and winter darkness still affect delivery lanes, pads and concrete work.

December through March slab work may call for a ground heater. The trailer-mounted hydronic unit carries insulated hose on a reel and is used to thaw ground or cure concrete in winter.

Do not use elevation as a reason to skip drainage. Clear snow and ice from the access, placement and door path, then keep meltwater moving away from the unit so refreezing does not change the pad or trap the doors.

A trailer-mounted light tower supports dark work areas with 4 LED floodlights and a mast reaching about 30 ft. Position it through the site's lighting plan without assuming the tower replaces required traffic controls or safe work practices.

Spring conditions deserve the same care. A loaded tilt-bed is heavier than a pickup, and a shoulder that looks dry at the surface can still be a poor truck route or placement base.

Pickup may occur in a different season from delivery. Under Rental Agreement §16, rent continues until retrieval, and a failed pickup due to the site, access or an unready unit incurs that trip's pickup fee plus the next trip.

Who reviews a container placement in Glenwood Springs?

For a parcel inside city limits, contact City of Glenwood Springs Community Development. For unincorporated Garfield County, begin with Garfield County Community Development and verify jurisdiction before submitting project material.

Glenwood Springs is a home rule city and the Garfield County seat, so both the City and the County keep permit counters in town. Which one you visit depends on the parcel, and what they require depends on the duration, unit and use you propose, so ask about the exact placement.

You are responsible for permits, approvals, zoning, HOA and landlord consents under §5. Gather those decisions before dispatch and give the on-site representative a copy of the approved placement plan.

Do not infer jurisdiction from the nearest road or neighborhood name. Confirm the parcel, then match the permit inquiry, delivery ZIP and placement address to that record.

How can the field office stay connected?

When shore power is ready, the Base office uses its 50-amp inlet for the office systems. Where utility service is delayed, the Grid-Free office combines the Base room with WATCH, CONNECT and POWER built in.

For visibility, WATCH is a solar LTE camera. It does not transfer theft risk, and the recording notices and consents the law requires at the site are yours under Rental Agreement §13.

What will a Glenwood Springs rental cost?

Zone B covers listed Glenwood Springs delivery ZIPs. Delivery and pickup use the same each-way charge, and the zone schedule lets an owner compare the transport line separately from monthly rent.

The damage waiver costs 12% of rent plus recurring upgrades. Theft and other exclusions are stated in Rental Agreement §12, and the alternative is a refundable one-month rent deposit plus a certificate of insurance.
